Why can't I get into my mailbox?
Ensure you are online by checking a website. Please refer to login problems or disconnect problems if that is the issue
-How long have you noticed the problem? Please understand if your internet connection and/or your computer has too many applications running this may cause email problems.
-Log into WebMail to confirm username and password; deleting first unread message from the server will often fix the problem.
-restart your machine and restart program
-if you are on a network --are all the other computers down?
-Check your settings especially your username/password combination and the Wire mail servers: mail.the-wire.com
-confirm that your virus program isn't blocking mail
-if there is still a problem please take note of the error message.

Why can't I send messages?

Email is almost always sent out through the mail server of your bandwidth provider. If you are a Wire website or email client but use another internet provider for DSL or dialup please call that internet provider first to check there are no current SMTP problems.

-How long have you noticed the problem? Please be patient as there may be slowness from your internet connection and/or you may have too many applications running.
-NB NB restart your machine and restart program
-if you are on a network --are all the other computers down?
-Check your settings especially your username/password combination and the Wire mail servers: mail.the-wire.com
-Log into WebMail to confirm username and password and deleting the messages from the server will often fix the problem.
-confirm that your virus program isn't blocking mail
-Make sure you are sending email in batches less than 25. In addition, any incorrect addresses could cause the server to reject the entire list, or remaining addresses. So verify every address thoroughly.
-if there is still a problem please take note of the error message.

I am not receiving certain messages, why?

-most likely this is a problem with the person sending messages
-make certain they are sending to the correct address eg fred@the-wire.com
-the attachment size is less than 8 MB
-confirm you haven't had any filters in place which has removed the message or that you have deleted the message
-if there is still a problem please take note of the error message and/or if you can send a copy of the message with the error message to and we will take a look.

What is the maximum file size I can transmit?
8 MB. This is a large attachment size in the industry and so you can only send what your recipient's ISP allows.
