How do I configure my dialup?

Ensure that a telephone cable connects your modem jack on your computer (not the telephone jack) to the telephone jack in the wall and then please refer to the PC or MAC configuration.

Why do I get disconnected?
Our dialup system automatically disconnects your connection after 15 minutes have passed with no data transferred. This maintains fair access to services and prevent lengthy unintended connections.

If you experience disconnections after a successful connection, check in the dialup connection under Server Type that TCP/IP is the only protocol checked on.

You have to disable "call-waiting" and add" *70," before the phone number so that incoming calls do not disconnect the modem connection.

The baud rate of your modem is unstable and can be lowered from the default 115,000 kpbs.

In your email program uncheck "Hang up after sending receiving email".

Pease record your modem name and the error message displayed by your computer.

Why am I not getting a 56K connection rate?
56K modems retrain or reconnect for optimum speed and so are unherently unstable. A normal 56K transfer lies between 40K to 50K. Line speed is influenced by many factors: the number of switches between you and our dialup servers, line "noise" or poor quality wiring. You can call your phone company to check your line and we recommend that you invest in a hardware rather than a software based modem.

Why am I not able to login?

The most common reason for a failure to verify and connect is an incorrect combination of username and password. Passwords are case sensitive so please check that your Caps Lock key is not on. On a new dialup setup, the usename reverts to a system user name until there is a successful connection so confirm your dialup user name. .

Check your modem cable is not loose and cables connect computer and telephone jack.

Confirm under Server Type settings that only TCP/IP is checked on.

Confirm that the account is not being used by another computer. Unless we have established a simultaneous connection service, dialup accounts support one login at a time.

If there is still a problem, please take note of the error message.

I can't reach one specific website, why?

Check if other computers have a similar problem. If not, clear your cached files - in Internet Explorer go to Tools->Internet Options->Delete Files.
