Windows 2000 Dialup Settings

Setup Overview

Click on 'Start', then 'Settings', then 'Network and Dialup Connections'.
Click on 'Make New Connection' and the 'Network Connection Wizard' will appear. Click 'Next'.
Select 'Dialup to the Internet' and click 'Next'.
The Internet Connection Wizard will appear. Select the third option, 'I want to set up my Internet connection manually', and click 'Next'.
Select 'I connect through a phone line and a modem' and click 'Next'.
Windows will now try and configure your modem. If you wish to choose a modem click off 'Don't detect my modem'. Click 'Next'.
Enter the dialup phone number 4162146452 for The Wire. Leave 'Use area code and dialing rules' unchecked. Click 'Next'.
Enter your Wire dialup username and password in the appropriate boxes

If you are prompted for a name for this connection you can enter 'The Wire'.
You will be asked to set up an internet account. Click 'No' and click 'Next'. Now click 'Finish' to connect to the internet.
